As you may have heard, Third Act has called for a National Day of Action to Stop the Dirty Banks, on March 21. Our purpose is to pressure the Big Four US banks – Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and CitiBank – to stop funding fossil fuels. Across the country, many local actions will deliver a strong message to these banks funding the exploration, expansion, and development of climate-destroying fossil fuel projects: Move your money out of fossil fuels, or we will move our money out of your banks.
Locally, we in STMP Seattle, along with Third Act Puget Sound and other groups, are planning a rally, march, and bank actions, including closing accounts and cutting up credit cards at Bank of America, Chase and Wells Fargo. Please sign the “Banking on our Future Pledge“, to tell those banks we will not bank with them.
We also need you! Please join us by:
- Showing up for the big event on Mar. 21, from noon to 2pm, in Seattle on Capitol Hill, at Broadway East and East Thomas St. Let us know you’re coming by Signing Up on Third Act’s website.
