Lang is a Fellow at the National Policy Consensus Center; a Board Member for the Institute for Environmental Research and Education; a Board Member for Sustainable Seattle; a Board Member for the Environmental Law Institute. He is the former Director for the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and a former Commissioner for the New York Department of Environmental Conservation. Lang’s current major interest area is financing redevelopment of carbon infrastructure and other harmful assets into clean, efficient systems and services. Life cycle science and financial mechanisms for drawing capital away from short term gains to long term positive outcomes for society and nature are among the tools required.
