South Seattle Climate Action Network has a new home at the Hillman City Collaboratory and we have changed our monthly meeting time to the First Thursday of every month (except August and December).

The agenda will include canvassing tips from the new 1631 Field Organizer; fall movie updates; and a sneak preview of our legislative priorities.

In the future, our meetings will start at 7pm but there will be a social time for discussion and sharing starting at 6:30pm. Every other month we plan to have a program with a speaker or panel or some other planned event. For months when we don’t have a planned program, meetings will focus on what is happening in work-groups (legislative, Meaningful Movies, children and youth, transportation etc.) and on ways for new attendees to join or start a work-group.

We decided to have a discussion and sharing time at the start of every meeting because we know that there are many who need an opportunity to share their hopes and who need to know that they are not alone in their concerns about global warming.
At SSCAN, we know that taking action is a way for us to choose hope. We want to be able to tell our friends, family and children that we are working to try and preserve a habitable planet. We do this with love and we do this in community because we know that in hard times, we need to laugh and hold our hopes and fears together.
Please join us for our September 6th meeting at the Hillman City Collaboratory!
