The Washington State Democratic Party Advocacy Committee is providing a Lobby Day opportunity for grassroots leaders to learn about this year’s legislative priorities and connect with our lawmakers. There is no cost to participate and all Democratic activists are welcome, regardless of advocacy skill level.

The Democratic Party’s draft 2020 Legislative Priorities include:
• Reduce emissions by adopting California’s standards for zero emission vehicles and medium duty trucks
• Increase funding for multimodal transportation projects that reduce auto dependence
• Appropriate additional funding for electric vehicle charging stations
• Allow cities to protect pedestrians and transit riders by deploying cameras to enforce traffic laws
• Establish a sustainable farms and fields grant program to strengthen Washington’s agricultural sector
• Require education on climate disruption, mass extinction, and actions for environmental protection
• Pass the HEAL Act to address environmental health disparities that affect communities of color
